Its not the complete history, as they go from 07/11/09 playing in rageQuit in a 3v3, which was after playing for =TW= and pimp.  To late 2015 when i came back from a break of playing for a year or 2. Anyway, there’s lots to go at, and if you ever played cod4 back in the day on clanbase or whatever or just on cod4.wars there’s a chance you and your mates might just be in one of them.  I will try and list each player for each team, in each upload/stream.  This is going to take some serious time and in the interest of time saving im gonna be playing back the demos at 2x speed to get through the long boring bits.  Sorry in advance to any old team mates that i don’t have demos of, as a lot have gone missing over the years.

I was thinking about setting up an permanent cod4 server from my house but the wife wont let me have a PC constantly running, so that’s as far as i got.

It took me a good while to find the cod4 server files for a Linux server install, as a lot of links are now dead.  I’ve given access to my google drive so that you can have the pick of them.  There are lnxded.bin files and server folders to go through including a crack for cracked servers.

There are plenty of setup guids on the net.  The hard part was finding the files. enjoy

How to Find players & a Match (war/pcw) in cod4

First your going to need a headset with mic.

Next download and install Teamspeak, get it from here http://www.teamspeak3.com/teamspeak-download.php

 

You can find people to play with on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) on the Quakenet servers, goto the channel #cod4.wars or go here

once you’ve joined #cod4.wars, put MIX ME and someone needing a player will contact you.  IF you have 5 players and are ready put “5v5 OFF” (if you don’t have a server to play on) or put “5v5 ON” (if you do have a server to play on).

Make sure you have consoled enabled in multiplayer options to copy and paste the game servers IP address into.  Also make sure downloading is allowed, as you will be playing promod and this needs to be download from the host server.

Cod4 is it dead?

I keep coming across people wondering of the game is worth getting, as its old now, are there servers still? Is it full of hackers etc?

So, is cod4 worth getting?  yeh, for sure the single player campaign is one of the best and loads of replay value. The multiplayer is legendary.

Are there still severs to play on?  Yep, CoD4 has dedicated servers (can be hosted on any machine by anyone) so these are not in the control of the publisher, and as long as people want to host a server they can.  Theres still servers to play on for CoD1.

Heres a screeny of some servers being played in this morning. Is CoD4 full of hackers?  Since PB went and cracked servers became the norm, yes there are hackers.  But if you find a good server with decent admins, they’ll kick the hackers.  I usually just play Promod wars these days, and hackers usually get kicked by the team they’re playing in when caught, from the server and Teamspeak etc.  There will always be hackers in online games, some people just wanna see the world burn.

CoD4 Server Config to Soften the Heli

Like it says these commands will Nerf the heli on your CoD4 MP Server.  So that people can kill it and it doesnt run riot for ages.

Just open your main server.cfg and paste these into the bottom.

Now your heli will only have a small clip size and will run out of ammo soon, but your players that shoot at it, will be rewarded.
You can set the clip size to 0 and it wont fire.
